Start Moving with More Freedom & Ease

Locomotion for the Everyday Athlete

Online Workshop | November 20 | 11:00am EST
Yes - I'm in!

Are you struggling with ongoing aches and pains, yet tend to avoid stretching and mobility work because it’s too ‘boring’?

Are you eager to learn new ways to build flexibility, strength and control in your body so that you can support your body long-term?

This 2-hour Locomotion for the Everyday Athlete workshop is designed to teach you fun ways to support your body so that you can stay active and continue showing up for your favourite activities for years to come – with less worry about ongoing injuries.

We will dive into the GMB Fitness Method (a simple structure that can help guide your training with mindfulness at the core), and walk away with a new tool belt of movements to support your fitness journey!

  • Date: Sunday Nov 20
  • Time: 11:00am-1:00pm EST
  • Location: Zoom (Join from anywhere + recording provided)
  • Cost: $49 CAD

Have questions?

Glad you asked! The goal of incorporating locomotion into your routine is to ENHANCE what you’re currently doing. The better your body moves, the better you can tackle your other activities.

For example:

  • Monkey and Frogger can be used to improve your squat or overhead squat.
  • Bent-Arm-Bear helps build on handstand push-up or any vertical pressing.
  • Bear, Monkey, or Frogger directly relates to flexibility improvements and therefore can help increase ROM in various movements
  • If you play with speed and tempo of these movements, they can be TOUGH and a great conditioning push.

There is no right or wrong way to do these! Everyone starts somewhere, and things like current mobility and fitness levels, previous athletic experience, injuries, etc, all impact how individuals move. When you look around the workshop, you will quickly realize no one person moves the same.

I encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and enjoy the process instead of worrying about how you look doing it. Ultimately, everyone is there to have some FUN and better their health and fitness.

Yes! While workshop participants will remain muted during the session, you WILL get the following coaching support:

  1. Questions can be asked via the “chat” feature. All questions will be answered during the live session.
  2. Participants may choose to keep video on, especially during the movement portion of the workshop (when you try some of the locomotion exercises). This way, the Coach can mention any feedback they see (i.e. corrections) to help you get even more out of the session!

Note: If you’re not comfortable joining via video, no worries. It’s not mandatory.

This workshop is open to all levels of fitness. During our session, we will move through various “sections”, such as presentation/discussion, stretch breaks, and of course, locomotion exploration. What that means is that we won’t be doing locomotion for the entire two hours as I know that would be a lot!

In saying that, participants will be spending time in positions like the bottom of a squat and will be on wrists quite a bit. If you are someone who is new or coming in with injuries, you are encouraged to take rests whenever needed and even watch/take notes if it is too much. You may also reach out to me at info@j2n.fit directly if you are still unsure.

The recording of the workshop will be sent to participants (access granted for two weeks after the workshop), so you can still tackle it if you can’t make the session live.

Full refunds may be provided up to 7 days before the workshop date.

If you require cancellation within 7 days of the workshop date, you are encouraged to see if someone you know may want to jump in to take your spot! Please email info@j2n.fit if an update to participant information needs to be made.

Yes! You are encouraged to take what you learn and integrate it into your weekly movement routine (ideas will be provided in the workshop). You will receive a follow up email with some locomotion tutorial links as well that you can reference.

Should you want to explore further, you can email info@j2n.fit to discuss other coaching options, such as J2N’s Foundations First.
